For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

1 Corinthians 2:2

If you're thinking about making some New Year's Resolutions, consider this one from the Apostle Paul: This year I resolve to know nothing but Christ and him crucified.

What a powerful statement and what a worthy resolution. This is radically simple. Salvation is in Christ alone. It’s not Christ and my behavior. It’s not Christ plus my tithe. It’s not Christ plus the bible verses I read or memorize. It’s not Christ plus a fast. It’s simply Christ. Christ plus nothing. All of the other things are good and beneficial but they will not save me. So why not resolve to know Him and Him alone?

I recently saw this quote, "No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending". Don’t start over. Start right where you are focus on Christ. He is Alpha – you’re beginning. He is Omega – you’re ending. I resolve to know nothing but Christ and him crucified. That’s a resolution worth keeping.
