Tim Wood

Co-Lead Pastor

About Tim

Oklahoma born, Tim Wood, has called the Bay Area home for fifty-one years. Parents of two adult children and grandparents to the light of their lives, Tim and his wife, Pam, have been serving at Evergreen for eighteen of his thirty-eight years in ministry, which to Tim means “faithfully loving and serving the people that Jesus died for.”  Tim’s life is marked by his favorite verse, (Joshua 1:8) and made infinitely better by Mexican food.

Joe Newton

Co-Lead Pastor

About Joe

Joe and Roxy,  his wife of 16yrs,  have deep Bay Area roots. Joe and Roxy met at age 13 and have been serving in full-time ministry  for the past 18 years.

Joe has served as a volunteer, youth pastor, campus pastor and church planter and is a Fellowship Associates Alumni as well as  member of the Ascent Leadership Cohort. He also served as a chaplain in the San Jose Sharks organization for 3 years 2017-2020.

Read Luke 15 and 2nd Corinthians 12:9 if you want to know Joe's heart, or you can meet him for some Brazilian food and he'll probably share it with you himself.

To Joe, ministry is:

Led by broken people who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, sharing the life-changing message of God's grace, truth and love.

Welcome to +New Evergreen!

God is doing something special in San Jose and I am so glad that I have been given the opportunity to lead this church, at this time. We have an amazing staff that genuinely cares about you, a quality family ministry that partners with parents for kids and students alike, and groups that are FOR everyone in Silicon Valley.

At the end of the day, if you leave disconnected, we have failed. We are here to help you GET and STAY connected, and I promise you this;  you'll love our +NEC family!

Pastor Tim's  Health Update:

This is challenging season for our +NEC community. In the midst of navigating this God-ordained church merger, we received the devastating news that a brain tumor had taken hold in Pastor Tim's body.

For real time information about his health journey, please follow the Wood Family CaringBridge site.

We know that God works His purpose into our lives, no matter how confusing and startling the circumstances may appear to be.  We are a community in transition as we walk this valley with our beloved pastor of twenty years, and also welcome a new season of fresh ideas and new vision as we move forward TOGETHER as a united NEW EVERGREEN community.

In May of 2023, God led the Pastor and elders of Evergreen Church to pursue a merge with New Valley Church.  Joe and Roxy Newton were part of God's providence for the Evergreen community in that merge. Our community is grateful for the way God has provided for both churches to bring ONE family out of two.

Armando Rios

Worship Pastor

About Armando

Born into a musical family in San Jose, Armando has been involved in worship in the church since he can remember. Having led worship since his youth, his passion is to see the church unified in Christ and for the hope of the cross to be known to all those who are broken. “Ministry is about people. My personal mission is to find a way to keep us connected to Jesus and what He made possible for us on the cross – REAL LOVE. I get to use music as my means for the mission.”

About Corrina

Corrina is passionate about communicating God’s heart to capture the attention of His beloved ones. Worship leader, writer, teacher, and multiple-hat-wearer, Corrina has been serving with the people she considers family at Evergreen since 2006. Acts 20:24 fuels her desire to remain faithful and committed “to the ministry she has received from the Lord Jesus, to testify of the gospel of the grace of God.” To Corrina, “ministry is loving the people God gives you in life WITH your life - holding the people tightly, but the life loosely.” Together with her husband, Matt, they are raising three boys and a husky named Glory.
